These are howler monkeys. They howl at dawn, waking us up at 5am. They sound like Satan. The first morning, I didn't know what I was hearing outside our bungalow, but it was easily the scariest noise I've heard in the middle of the night.
We also saw squirrel monkeys and capuchin monkeys, coatimundis, HUGE spiders, 2-toed sloths, crocodiles, iguanas, geckos, a scorpion, turtles, and all kinds of
other stuff.It is the jungle out there.
Speaking of jungle, we went on a "canopy tour" through the jungle where we ziplined from tree to tree hundreds of feet below ground. A couple of times we repelled to the next post. This is me repelling.
